Syltastic Features Knot Couture Designers

Earlier this year, while Erin and I were in the beginning stages of designing our new collection, we were photographed by Sylvia Hagar of Syltastic photography.   At the time we were photographed draping long skirts on Roxy Thrasher and picking fabrics and predicting yardages for other designs. There was discussion about carrying over a couple of the short dresses from the first collection by creating long dress versions of them.   As of yet, this concept is still being toyed with.

There’s No Place Like Home

I made myself a pair of ruby slippers, because let’s face it, sometimes a girl needs to play dress up. I have been wanting a pair for a while, but couldn’t find them ANYWHERE. So, (of course) I decided to make them myself. They started as basic red slip-on skimmers I purchased at Urban Outfitters. Any shoes would do, really. They don’t even have to be red! During snowpocalypse Atlanta 2010, Erin got a hankering to do something creative, so she decided to glitz up some high heels for Knot Couture. There is a DIY tutorial on how to make your own on our blog!

Replication of Temperley London Fall 2011 Dress

Replication of Temperley London Fall 2011 Dress

Sometimes finding the perfect dress to wear to a special occasion can be almost impossible! A client of mine happened to find said dress, and it just so happened to be this GORGEOUS red one-shoulder dress from Temperley London’s Fall 2011 collection! We decided to use a coral satin to compliment her skin tone, and we adjusted to sleeve to fit her proportions. I’ve gathered a few more photos of this original design, which you can see below. I simply cannot WAIT until my next designer replication!

Found the dress of your dreams but can’t afford the original?!

Contact me and we can make it happen!

Yesterday Erin and I met up with Kellyn, owner of Pin Up Girl! Cosmetics in Atlanta. Currently, Knot Couture has 11 various accessories for sale in the store, with more items to come soon! We will be discussing to possibility of having our wedding dress samples as well as casual wear for sale in the future.  Pin Up Girl! specializes in doing retro-themed makeup applications and hair dressing as well as taking portraits of their clients in a fun, vintage-inspired atmosphere. All the girls there are really sweet, and if you are ever in the area I highly recommend that you stop by and visit. Let them know Nancy from Knot Couture says ‘Hi!’.

Trunk or Treat!

Next Sunday Knot Couture will be featured at “Trunk or Treat”, a halloween event.  The event will be held at  Electric Body Art: 2100 Canton Road, Marietta, GA from 12-3. Basically everyone there will be asked to park their cars and the children will be going from ‘trunk to trunk’ collecting candy. Our table will be featuring KC’s bridal accessories such as headpieces and handbags as well as some cute pinup style panties. Anything that is not sold will most likely be featured in a local Atlanta boutique called Pin-up Girl! Costmetics.I will have more details on that later. For more information in the Trunk or Treat event visit the Facebook event page at the link below. If you can make it, look for the girls dressed as day of the dead brides.

Chaviano Couture is featured on Martha Stewart Weddings!

Here’s One For My Portfolio:
So, Erin has been making patterns and dresses for Annette for months now, and all the hard work is finally paying off. Now that we have joined forces, we are expecting alot more work to come our way considering all the press Chaviano Couture is getting at Bridal Fashion week. I made this dress- Ruby Marie, which is only the cocktail version (there is a removable full skirt) is made out of silk duppioni with a pintucked bodice and pockets. It is fully lined as well. I’m not sure what the cost is for this style and I’m too lazy to track it down. I’m sure you can find out from her website or something. YAY!
